When One Door Closes...

Woke up in London yesterday
Found myself in the city near Piccadilly
Don't really know how I got here
I got some pictures on my phone

New names and numbers that I don't know
Address to places like Abbey Road
Day turns to night, night turns to whatever we want
We're young enough to say

Oh this has gotta be the good life
This has gotta be the good life
This could really be a good life, good life

I say oh, got this feeling that you can't fight
Like this city is on fire tonight
This could really be a good life
A good, good life

To my friends in New York, I say hello
My friends in L.A. they don't know
Where I've been for the past few years or so
Paris to China to Colorado

Sometimes there's airplanes I can't jump out
Sometimes there's bullshit that don't work now
We all got our stories but please tell me
What there is to complain about?

When you're happy like a fool
Let it take you over
When everything is out
You gotta take it in

I feel like there might be something that I'll miss
I feel like the window closes oh so quick
I'm taking a mental picture of you now
Cause hopelessly
The hope is we have so much to feel good about

I have deserted you! I hate that it has taken me so long to give my blog some attention. My life has been crazy this past week, to say the least... So, here's the big news. There was a position that opened within my company that needed to be filled quickly. I decided to take the opportunity and ended up getting the job, so now I am moving to Birmingham, Alabama for work there. I leave tomorrow! This past week has been jam packed with a trip to and from Alabama (about 11 hours) from Oklahoma, searching for an apartment, and landing Justin the job to bring the trip to a close. Upon our arrival last night, we had to quickly finish our packing and visit the family before we head out.

The lyrics from Good Life by OneRepublic are copied above. In the past, this song has somewhat annoyed me because it is played way too often on the radio. But, it's funny when you actually hear lyrics because it is so fitting to a personal situation... and then it clicks! This is a big change for me but I am so ecstatic and anxious for my new path. Pictures from the trip to come!

Of course I will miss all my friends dearly... here are some memories:

My Jams

Because I have been walking a lot, it is very important to have music to keep me going and pumped up! Here are some songs I am currently listening to for a successful, invigorating workout... check it out on the right! ^

yes my taste is extremely random, I know..

Hike It Out

It is the best feeling to get out and enjoy nature, plus get a great work out while doing it. Last weekend my boyfriend Justin, his brother, sister-in-law and I went on a journey in the mountains on the most beautiful day. It was so unlike anything I enjoyed doing in the past, but I have to admit I had a wonderful time and it's kinda my new thing. We plan to hike every Sunday from now on or at least get out and take a nice walk at the park (sometimes the rain gets in the way). What a great way to enjoy the weather and get my body movin! Next up... I am going to try some yoga - I tried it only a couple times in high school, but it seems very relaxing and the outcome is so toning!

What do you do to stay in shape?

Nasty Gal advertisements are haunting me everywhere...they really must be doing something right. I have visited the website multiple times within the past few days and have compiled a very lengthy list of everything I want to buy. Best Beauty

These beauty basics are the ones I cannot live without on a daily basis. I don't know much about makeup, but it is of course important to me.. and I am learning. Luckily, I have had some help from my local Makeup Bar friends. After all, you can't have a great outfit without overall flawless skin makeup!

Balm Shelter Tinted Moisturizer

Tarte Cheek Stain in "Blushing Bride"
t.a.l.k beauty sha liner in "Go West"
Mayebelline Eye Studio Master Drama Cream Pencil in "Midnight Master"
Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Mascara in "Blackest Black"
L'Oreal Paris Lipcolour in "Golden Splendor"
ChapStick Classics in "Spearmint"
Bath & Body Works Seasonal Body Cream in "Vanilla Bean Noel"
CND Shellac Nail Color in "Clearly Pink"
So, as you can see some of these products are very basic (like, say the mint chap-stick) but a must for me every day! I mainly stick to these products when I am in a hurry early in the AM before work.. but of course I do like to switch it up and try new things. I have a ginormous makeup bag to prove it! More to come on this topic... Shellac is my new best thing and I cannot wait to share all about it.

What are your beauty basics for every day?
