When One Door Closes...

Woke up in London yesterday
Found myself in the city near Piccadilly
Don't really know how I got here
I got some pictures on my phone

New names and numbers that I don't know
Address to places like Abbey Road
Day turns to night, night turns to whatever we want
We're young enough to say

Oh this has gotta be the good life
This has gotta be the good life
This could really be a good life, good life

I say oh, got this feeling that you can't fight
Like this city is on fire tonight
This could really be a good life
A good, good life

To my friends in New York, I say hello
My friends in L.A. they don't know
Where I've been for the past few years or so
Paris to China to Colorado

Sometimes there's airplanes I can't jump out
Sometimes there's bullshit that don't work now
We all got our stories but please tell me
What there is to complain about?

When you're happy like a fool
Let it take you over
When everything is out
You gotta take it in

Hopelessly
I feel like there might be something that I'll miss
Hopelessly
I feel like the window closes oh so quick
Hopelessly
I'm taking a mental picture of you now
Cause hopelessly
The hope is we have so much to feel good about

I have deserted you! I hate that it has taken me so long to give my blog some attention. My life has been crazy this past week, to say the least... So, here's the big news. There was a position that opened within my company that needed to be filled quickly. I decided to take the opportunity and ended up getting the job, so now I am moving to Birmingham, Alabama for work there. I leave tomorrow! This past week has been jam packed with a trip to and from Alabama (about 11 hours) from Oklahoma, searching for an apartment, and landing Justin the job to bring the trip to a close. Upon our arrival last night, we had to quickly finish our packing and visit the family before we head out.

The lyrics from Good Life by OneRepublic are copied above. In the past, this song has somewhat annoyed me because it is played way too often on the radio. But, it's funny when you actually hear lyrics because it is so fitting to a personal situation... and then it clicks! This is a big change for me but I am so ecstatic and anxious for my new path. Pictures from the trip to come!

Of course I will miss all my friends dearly... here are some memories:

Byebye!

  1. I know how tough moving can be. It stinks but I'm sure you'll find tons of other opportunities that will open up to you. Good luck with your new job! :)
